Nestled
in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, the 902-acre Ridge
Haven Conference and Retreat Center is the ideal setting for a
weekend excursion, a family vacation or a special seminar. From
camping facilities to apartments, from cafeterias to kitchens, from
swimming pools and playgrounds to hiking trails, Ridge Haven can
fulfill your specific needs to get away from the daily stresses of
life.
The
General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA)
established the Ridge Haven Conference and Retreat Center in 1978 as
a year-round ministry outreach to individuals, families, churches,
PCA and other ministry organizations. (See our calendar.)
Whether you're on your own or in a group, we hope this can be your
place for any reason or season. At Ridge Haven, you are surrounded
by God's wondrous nature -- we are simply the caretakers. Spiritual
rejuvenation is as important as physical relaxation and our goal is
to provide the means for you to have the opportunity for both.
No matter
what season it is or the size of your group, we have a variety of
comfortable and cozy facilities, or a serene camping area from which
you can choose.
All of our motel
facilities offer double occupancy rooms, private baths, linens, heat
and air conditioning. Many of the common areas have fireplaces. Our
RV area has full hook-ups, electricity, water and sewage services.
Spiritually, Ridge Haven is a place to be still and meet with God.
It's a place to be with others or make your own personal retreat.
It's a place to learn about Him, worship Him and enjoy Him.
Physically, it is a natural place for activities and rest, away from
the intrusions of the world's demands. If you are wanting to host a
conference, camp, or retreat, we can supply you with equipment,
meeting rooms, meals, and more. If you need help in planning or
locating leadership, including Bible teachers or speakers, we can
help there as well. Our experience in hosting camps and conferences
throughout the year for all ages and types of groups is a resource
we make available to you so you can focus your attention and energy
elsewhere during your stay. So, whatever the reason or the season,
we can supply what you need. All Ridge Haven ministries seek to be:
True to the Scriptures,
True to the Reformed Faith and
Faithful to the Great Commission.
For those
physically active seekers, we have a covered pavilion for basketball
and volleyball. Other sports activities and equipment are available
including softball, baseball, football, soccer, and ping-pong. We
have two outdoor swimming pools, a high ropes course, a low ropes
course, a climbing wall, and our famous mud pit. We have recently
completed construction of a children's playground near Iverson and
Dean Lodges; and another playground near the pavilion is scheduled
to be finished by June 1. Ridge Haven also has tennis courts and
hiking trails, mountain bikes and a beautiful and challenging
mountain bike trail. If that's not enough, you can visit other
nearby attractions like Oconaluftee Indian Village, the Great Smoky
Mountains Railway, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Biltmore Estate or
the Pisgah National Forest where you can see Looking Glass Falls or
visit Sliding Rock Recreation Area; canoeing, mountain biking, and
white-water rafting are also available along with excellent snow
skiing in season.
If you're
searching for a get-away you can enjoy in the spring or the fall,
the summer or the winter, for physical enjoyment and spiritual
restoration, Ridge Haven Conference and Retreat Center is your place
for any season or reason. Ridge Haven is the place for you!
He caused the storm
to be still, so that the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they
were glad because they were quiet. So He guided them to their
desired haven. Psalm 107:29-30
